Types of Marble Finishing

Polished Finish:
A shiny, mirror-like look obtained by filling the pores of the rough saw-cut surface through treating and grinding the surface using some polishing abrasive stone.
Suitable for: for floors, walls interior and exterior.

Honed Finish:
A satin-smooth or matte finish. Honed finish is achieved by stopping just short of the last stage of polishing.
Suitable for: walls & floors (interior & exterior).

Saw-Cut Finish:
Saw-cut refined offers a matte finish.
The rough surface resulting form cutting stone is processed to remove the heaviest saw marks but not enough to achieve a honed finish.
Suitable for floors & walls interior and exterior.

Antique Finishes

Brushed:
produced by continuous scrubbing of the surface with wire brushes.
Suitable for: walls & floors (interior & exterior)

Split face:
are those surfaces which are left natural after manual splitting of stone along planer surfaces. This finish shows the actual natural earthy tone of the stone.
Suitable for: floors & walls interior and exterior.


Tumbled:
tumbled finish is achieved by vibrating the tiles with some special stones to give the surface a textured and antique look whereby the edges are rounded and imperfect.
Suitable for: floors & walls interior and exterior.

Flamed:
applying blowtorch-strength heat to the surface of marble causes the protrusion of some crystals and creates a deeply textured surface which produces flamed stone.
Suitable for: floors & walls(interior and exterior).

Acid treated:
Stone surfaces are treated by acids to give them a gorgeous antique look.
